fumatech, Gesellschaft für funktionelle Membranen und Anlagentechnolgie mbH, is active in the fields of fuel cell technology, the production of membranes and engineering plants for water treatment and recycling. Fumatech, a member of the BWT best water technology group was founded in 1994. The primary business targets are the development and marketing of non-porous and functional membranes for all electro-membrane processes including electrodialysis, acid and base dialysis, electrolysis, batteries and fuel cells.
Fumatech has achieved a position in the fuel cell market as a membrane supplier for both MEA manufacturers as well as for vertically integrated companies producing stand alone fuel cell systems. The fuel cell strategy of fumatech is to supply all fuel cell industries with (a) ionomers in bulk powder or solution, (b) membranes from fluorinated ionomers, non-fluorinated ionomers and hybrid organic-inorganic recipes for electrolysis, hydrogen fuel cells and direct methanol fuel cells. Furthermore, fumatech will provide coating services for e.g. toll production of tailored membranes as well as for the production of catalysed membranes.
