With annual sales of €174 million, RIVOIRA S.p.A. is a leading supplier of atmospheric, process, and specialty gases and related services and technologies in Italy. Over the near century of its existence, Rivoira has served a wide range of industries including food and beverages, healthcare, semiconductors, chemicals, refining, primary metals, and metal fabrication, as well as other areas of general industry. Working to help solve problems for more than 13,000 customers, RIVOIRA operates in the whole domestic market.

(NYSE:PX) is a global, Fortune 500 company that supplies atmospheric, process and specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services and technologies.

Rivoira/Praxair and fuel cells Praxair and Rivoira have decades of experience in safely producing and distributing hydrogen and in designing hydrogen systems for their customers. There are several emerging research areas where Praxair and Rivoira have values and applicable competencies, and are working on development with materials providers, device suppliers, end-use customers and government. Development of new, clean fuel technologies, including fuel cells, is one of the most important key areas and platforms where our competencies can serve the growing market needs associated with emission controls to meet stringent tailpipe emission standards.

Praxair holds associate memberships with the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the National Hydrogen Association and has contributed in the development of codes and standards by the Compressed Gas Association and the National Fire Protection Association in advancing hydrogen safety systems and technologies.

In Italy, Rivoira has actively contributed to install first Plug Power's Fuel Cell in Italy to produce electrical power at the Centro Ambientale Antonio Bellini in Penne (Abruzzo).

Rivoira and SIAD (a minority-owned Praxair company in Italy), in partnership with Nuvera Fuel Cells, Inc. are establishing a hydrogen test facility located in Bergamo for the purpose of demonstrating hydrogen-based fuel cell systems.

In addition, RIVOIRA/SIAD will supply the hydrogen gas obtained from a new natural gas reforming plant -- with purity up to 99.9995 percent -- to power the fuel cell systems.
